Protesters took to the streets with a message
Protesters called for an end to public health mandates Saturday as they marched through downtown Kelowna with a police escort.
The rally began in Stuart Park. Protesters assemble there every Saturday at noon with flags, signs, and related wear. This week the crowd was over two-hundred and fifty people.
While recently the protests ended with a convoy or a waning crowd, Saturday's protest ended with a march through Kelowna's downtown strip.
The crowd cheered, held placards, and flew flags while police escorted them down Bernard avenue. One protester played drums in the crowd.
The march stretched from Stuart Park to the corner of Highway 97 and Abbott street.
Arriving at the highway, protesters lined the surrounding sidewalks and median strip to continue demonstrating.
Another freedom rally is expected this Saturday at Stuart Park.
